DOS had received an e-mail from Yvonne Perry explaining she would not be able to attend.
DOS confirmed that she had announced that Winter Indoor Training would begin in the first weekend in October and would be 8-10pm on Wednesday nights.
KS said that he would inform Walton High so that bookings could be confirmed.
RN questioned how many juniors would be able to attend training that did not begin until 8pm.
KS explained that this was the only time slot available at Walton High.
DOS then suggested that younger members should be allowed to attend for just the first hour of the session.
DOS then agreed to collect the fees that will be £2 per session.
IR then repeated that players who had paid full fees for 2006 would be entitled to five free sessions to compensate for the fact the club had not provided them with caps and t-shirts this season.
KS then asked which coach the committee wanted to run the sessions.
It was agreed that if Darrin Ward was willing to do the coaching he was the most suitable coach and DOS was tasked with asking him.
DOS/0609-01
DOS then asked KS if he could send out a bulk e-mail to all members of the club with details of the sessions.
KS/0609-01
DOS asked Nick Russell if he had received any response to the e-mails he had sent to players who still owed the club unpaid fees.
NR confirmed that he had sent the e-mails but had not received any responses.
DOS then suggested that any player who had not paid their 2006 subscription should not be allowed to play in 2007 until the debt had been settled.
RN stated that as a club we should also not release players to play for other teams until outstanding fees had been settled.
The entire committee agreed that this is what the BaseballMK member contract for 2006 had stated.
KS explained that the club now had strong ties with Croughton Military base and he was confident that this would increase player numbers for the 2007 season.
DOS said that she had not received any suggestions for alternative entertainment options for this years end of season meal and trophy night.
DOS then said that she had already booked the horse racing that had been used for the very successful 2005 event and the only date they had available was 17th November.
NR suggested that he may have found a similar type of event using slightly different equipment.
DOS asked NR to report back to her within two weeks whether his idea was booked so she could cancel her booking.
NR/0609-01
KS then suggested that he may be able to book the function room at Planet Ice.
The committee asked KS to follow this up.
KS/0609-02
DOS finally suggested that another committee meeting be agreed prior to the date so that the exact details of the evening could be agreed.
RN raised the issue of how the club would be providing trophies for this season.
KS explained that he still had some stock from previous seasons which would probably suffice for this year.
RN then offered an unused trophy that he had in his club stock.
The committee then agreed the trophies that would be given out this season.
| Warhawks (U13) | Player's Player | Rookie | |
| Spitfires (U16) | Player's Player | MVP | Rookie |
| Hurricanes (Senior) | Player's Player | MVP |
KS then stated that he expected to continue recent practice that all paid up players who attended the evening would receive a players shield.
DOS offered to be the central subscription collector for the following season.
All of the committee thanked Debra for the offer and upon the suggestion of KS agreed to support her completely if any situation arose where she needed further backing.
RN announced that he was planning to retire from the senior team.
The entire committee recognised the work that RN has done for the club and for baseball in Milton Keynes.
KS also explained that RN was always welcome to help as guest coach in the youth programme.
RN thanked KS for the offer and said he would enjoy the opportunity to help the youth programme.
A short discussion then took place regarding suitable candidates to become the head coach of the senior team for the 2007 season.
KS then stated that the 2007 season would be his final year as the club GM.
KS explained that the work involved in running the entire club was now too much for a single volunteer due to the clubs growth.
KS then offered to use the 2007 season as a time to devolve the GM functions back into the individual teams.
The committee agreed that all of the senior players should all be asked to return their uniform tops so that all of the club equipment can be stored together during the offseason.
The next meeting to discuss the details of the end of season awards night was agreed for to be Wednesday 25th October.
