Keith Sheman confirmed that every person present had received their registration packs that included the membership fees for 2006.
Keith then specifically addressed the rumours that some players would be allowed to play regardless of whether they had registered and paid their fees if a team was short of players on game day.
Keith made it clear that using non-rostered players on game day would result in the team forfeiting the game. It was also made clear that players who do not register and pay their fees will not be rostered.
At the end of Keith's clarification everyone present understood that anyone who wanted to play baseball for BaseballMK this season would be required to register and pay their fees.
Keith then highlighted that the club "assisted places" programme was available to people with a genuine hardship if they made an application to the committee.
Debra O'Sullivan then queried whether she was correct in her understanding of the fees due if a junior member wished to register and play for both the pony and senior team. Keith confirmed the fees, but also stated he was talking to the GB National Programme and BSUK regarding their request for several of our pony players to also be included in the senior squad.
Graham Crabb then questioned whether pony players requested by senior squad to make up numbers would be required to pay. Keith stated that junior players that helped the club to make up a senior team would not be charged as they were clearly helping the club fulfil fixtures.
Keith then explained that all players were expected to register within their own age group. He finished highlighting that a sustainable club infrastructure was the most important consideration when managing teams and rosters.
Keith Sherman began by passing around sample caps and the 2006 logo design.
Keith also outlined how the 2006 logo would be used on both this years cap and team t-shirt.
He then explained that unfortunately the new grey road jerseys would not be available for 2006.
Keith then said that the club would be ordering new shirts for the senior team, so that their home shirt matched the junior teams. Debra O'Sullivan added that the pony team also would be ordering some additional shirts for the players who required larger sizes.
At the end of a short discussion, everyone agreed that they were happy with the team uniform.
Keith Sherman began the presentation giving an update of the Knowlhill Baseball Development.
In 2005 at the previous club meeting Genny Simmons had reported that the council were in the process of finalising the scale plans and the project was about to be sent to the costing department.
Keith then explained that the MK council had recently notified the club committee that their feasibility study had concluded the Knowlhill project was no longer feasible.
The council are now asking BaseballMK to consider an alternative proposal were the Baseball development could be included into the Emerson Valley Rugby development.
Tara Doswell then offered to help with future negotiations with the council. Keith thanked her for her offer but explained that Robert Hodgson had already been asked if he would be willing to help and he had accepted.
Keith then concluded with some good news explaining that the schools programme he was working on with Rob Norris was making good progress. This progress included one of the Milton Keynes schools considering the option of building a full baseball diamond and a practice diamond on their school playing fields.
