Baseball in MK Schools - March 2005

Pitch Hit & Run is back in Milton Keynes Schools.

St Thomas Aquinas School in Bletchley was the first of four schools that have shown interest in BaseballMK providing after-school baseball under the Pitch Hit & Run Banner.

Once all four (or more) schools have signed up to this program Donald Vincent-Morris at BaseballSoftballUK has said that we can apply for a Playball League. If you would like your Milton Keynes located school included in our baseball programme then please contact us using this form.

Week One

Due to the weather conditions it was decided to carry out the first lesson indoors and introduce the new players to Equipment and Safe Play. We had twelve players turn up with the promise of more (once the booster classes were out of the way) I left leaving the school with a list of personal equipment the players would need to bring to future sessions.

Week Two

We are now in week two and it is good to see the numbers have grown to fifteen. The children appeared this week with their own equipment, including the personal equipment that was requested. The children are already showing signs of working as a Team. I have paired mixed players (boy/girl) and players of different abilities and there has been no objections.

The Future

I am now looking forward to going into Heronsgate School in the new term. Meetings are being arranged for the other two schools.

Signing off, until next time.
