Seniors get off to losing start

The BaseballMK Seniors opened the new season with an 11-3 defeat against Northampton Baseball Club, who were formerly the MK Bucks on Sunday.

NBC made it two wins our two at the start of their Division One Midlands campaign after their previous 24-9 win over the Birmingham Bulldogs.

The victory was largely thanks to NBCs pitcher Jarrod Pretorius who made it tough going for the BMK batters. Scott McVay led the way by getting a piece of the ball and getting on to base and finally recording BMKs first run.

BMKs man of the match award would have had to have gone to the youngest player on the team, third baseman Gordon Sheppard who executed two amazing jumping catches, closely followed by relief pitcher Nick Marxsen who despite being injured, recorded some excellent pitching.

BMK entertain the Birmingham Bulldogs next Sunday where they will look to bounce back from their defeat.
