BaseballMK spoil Bracknell's perfect season

BaseballMK Pony team derailed Bracknell Blazers unbeaten season by convincingly beating them 11-5 in the first game of a doubleheader before narrowly losing 11-14 in the second game, just failing in their attempt to come back from a 10 run deficit.

Gordon Sheppard was the winning pitcher for BMK giving up just 1 earned run over 6 innings whilst also driving in three runs when batting. The rest of the offence also played their part with Kieran OSullivan, Ed Wilmott and Michael Philpot scoring valuable runs.

In the second game, BMK were holding Bracknell at 4-4 after 4 innings before defensive miscues helped Bracknell to a 14-4 lead going into the bottom of the final inning. BMK attempted a comeback of mammoth proportions before just falling short to lose 14-11 with the tying run on deck. Wayne Booth crowned his debut for BMK with a fine pitching performance to add to his two home runs on the day.
